Known as 'PENOLAS BAR', from INDUSTRIAS PENOLAS, S.A. de C.V., of Mexico, the world's leading refinfer of primary silver. Engelhard Industries purchased under annual contract .9995 silver bullion and grain for melt feed stock for alloying. These are industrial ingots and vary in approximate 200oz weight class denomination. These ingots were substantially consumed for industrial applications or remelted and very few exist today.
This particular example is known as "The Brute" and was procured by its original owner, a celebrated advanced collector, in 1966. It was welcomed into the All Engelhard collection in 2012 and enjoys 5oz Johnson Matthey bars once a week to keep him from getting grouchy.
