Australian bullion retailer, Southern Cross Coins & Commodities, applied this SCCC cloverleaf counterstamp. They operated their retail store at the corner of Bourke & Exhibition Streets in Melbourne, Australia.
We believe SCCC counterstamped these bars in the early 1980’s after they were received directly from Engelhard Australia. This particular example of 0.5kg Australian ingot was sourced from the collection of a former analytical chemist at the New Jersey Engelhard facility. These ingots were produced at the Engelhard refinery in Thomastown, Australia.
