DAVID C. DAVIS CO.

ALL ENGELHARD is pleased to welcome visitors to our David C. Davis Company Definitive Page. The David C. Davis Company of San Francisco was a silver scrapper originating in the 1950’s and later worked directly with the San Francisco Mint Assay Office in the redemption of Silver Certificates until its completion in 1968. The end of the certificate redemption period was formalized with the production of the 1968 David C. Davis San Francisco Commemorative Silver Slug, as shown below. Silver Ingots produced by the David C. Davis Company were produced in very limited mintage from the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s and are considered highly collectible in all weight classes. We have no doubt that most examples did not survive the great melts of 1979/1980 and 2011. While our focus is clearly Engelhard, we recognize that many Engelhard bullion collectors also collect other bars and ingots. As such, we appreciate the opportunity to present additional collections and look forward to your thoughts and input!
