The company sold directly to licensed refrigeration and air-conditioning contractors, as well as industrial and municipal customers. It is now known as Baker Distributing Company and based in Jacksonville, Florida. The company currently has more than 200 locations in 22 states.
We believe Engelhard produced these bars for Baker Brothers in mintage of 1000 pieces - to be presented as employee gifts at annual management and sales meetings in the early 1980’s. The Baker Bros, Inc. bars are unique in that they are counterstamped on the obverse and also include a serial number.
